日本地球惑星科学連合大会2010で発表しました
5月23日〜28日の日程で開催された日本地球惑星科学連合大会において「Environmental Remote Sensing」セッションと「水循環・水環境」セッションで発表をしました。「Environmental Remote Sensing」は連合が推進する国際化に対応し、英語による国際セッションとしての開催となりました。6件の口頭発表と8件のポスター発表で構成されましたが、口頭発表は約50名ほどの参加者を得て、活発な議論が展開され、ポスター発表では終了時間を過ぎても熱い議論が続き、多くの方々と交流することができました。講演内容は多岐にわたりましたが、One Global, Many Worlds、すなわちグローバルは一つ、世界はたくさん、を基本的なスタンスとして様々な環境問題の理解を目指してみました。環境問題は地域における人と自然の関係に関する問題、地域はそこに住む人々にとっての世界ですので、たくさんの世界を認識することが環境問題の理解につながります。今回は国際セッションとしたことで参加者の減少が懸念されたのですが、結果として多くの参加者を得て、環境リモートセンシングに対する関心の高さを改めて意識することとなりました。留学生の発表の機会としても、来年も継続を検討したいと思います。
